Trusted by Finnish water utilities — built for the network's real complexity

Preventos Hero is in daily production use across Finland, and the methodology behind it has been refined through years of customer projects in wastewater, stormwater, and water-supply networks. Three publicly named references and a path from 2018 to today — below.

Sized to scale

From major utilities to small water cooperatives — same Hero environment

City-scale deployments

Utilities like Vaasan Vesi, Kuopion Vesi, and Kuopion kaupunki — multi-catchment networks with dozens of measurement sites, SCADA integration, and full I/I analytics in production.

Mid-sized municipal utilities

Targeted deployments — a single catchment, a flood-risk area, a leak-investigation campaign — using the same Hero platform with a smaller measurement footprint.

Small water cooperatives

Lightweight Hero environments scaled down to a handful of sites. Same analytics, same data-quality scoring, same defensible numbers — at a fraction of the deployment effort.

Reference path

The path from 2018 to today

A condensed reference timeline. Named projects below are publicly cleared with the customer; other Finnish utility projects are part of the same body of work and are listed without the customer name.

2018–2019
First customer projects: leak-detection campaigns and flow measurement services for Finnish municipal water utilities. Foundation for the methodology that grew the company into a data-integration and analytics company.
2020–2022
Pumping-station data analysis services consolidated, first stormwater modelling projects delivered, Preventos Hero platform beta deployments. Customer base expanded from small municipal utilities to mid-sized city-scale utilities.
2023
Hero enters production. Named reference projects this year:
  • Kuopion Vesi — level and flow measurement service for gravity sewers (wastewater).
  • Kuopion kaupunki — precipitation, flow and level measurement service in a flood-risk area; precipitation measurement service for the city area; precipitation–runoff–flow model of a stormwater system (all three stormwater).
Additional Finnish utility projects this year: leakage estimation based on pumping-station data, and a wastewater-sewer overflow and flood-alarm service (customer names not published here).
2024
Hero in full production across the wastewater, stormwater, and water-supply domains. Named reference projects this year:
  • Vaasan Vesi — network work in collaboration with Ulefos expertise, with catchment-level I/I analytics and weather correction (wastewater).
  • Kuopion Vesi — pressure and pressure-transients measurement on the distribution network (water supply).
Additional Finnish utility project this year: flow measurement service for a waste-management site (customer name not published here). 2024: Ulefos becomes a part-owner of Preventos — the partnership opens access to the Nordic markets and Ulefos serves as Preventos' sales organization for Finnish water utilities.
2025–2026
I/I analytics deployment continues to expand across Finnish water utilities, and the asset-management optimization module enters pilot. Sales collaboration with Ulefos starts in full, and Nordic expansion begins to advance through the Ulefos partnership.

Pilot collaborations and joint case studies — open now

If you operate a Finnish water utility and would like to see your network on Hero, we have specific opportunities for new reference customers across all three network domains:

  • Pilot deployment of the asset-management optimization module
  • Joint case study on I/I analytics and data-quality scoring
  • Stormwater monitoring rollout for flood-risk catchments
  • Leak and pipe-break detection and localization on main water-supply networks using hydrophone and pressure-transient data
