From a consulting practice to a SaaS company — built for the network's real complexity
Preventos Informatics Oy was founded in 2018 in Finland to bring data-driven decision-making to wastewater and stormwater networks. What started as project consulting evolved into a cloud-native platform — Preventos Hero — in daily production use across Finland, with public references including Vaasan Vesi, Kuopion Vesi, and Kuopion kaupunki.
A SaaS company with field-engineering DNA
Preventos Informatics Oy was founded in 2018 to bring data-driven decision-making to wastewater and stormwater networks. The early work was project consulting — leak detection campaigns, flow measurement studies, hydraulic modelling — for a small group of Finnish water utilities.
Through customer demand, that consulting practice evolved into a SaaS platform. The same analytical methods that we ran by hand on customer datasets became Preventos Hero, a cloud-native application that integrates IoT loggers, SCADA, NIS, and weather feeds into one environment, then turns the combined data into data-quality-scored, weather-corrected I/I analytics.
Today Hero serves Finnish water utilities in daily production use — public references include Vaasan Vesi, Kuopion Vesi, and Kuopion kaupunki — with real-time monitoring, catchment-level I/I analytics, and cross-site comparison. The next chapter is an asset-management optimization module — built on the US-EPA 10-step procedure, currently in pilot, and already integrated with the network condition metrics Hero produces.
The team operates from Finland, builds on field-engineering experience, and partners with leading hardware vendors and meteorological data providers. We're a small, focused company — and we intend to stay that way as we expand from Finland into the broader Nordic and European water sector.

Pasi co-founded Preventos Informatics Oy in 2018 and leads both the company and its technology roadmap. Day to day he sits across customer engagements, product direction, and the engineering work behind Preventos Hero.
Mikko co-founded Preventos Informatics with Pasi and is the architect behind Preventos Hero. Mikko runs all of Preventos's data services — from the integration backbone to the analytics engine — and brings deep expertise in software, data engineering, mobile connectivity, and cybersecurity to every part of the platform.
